Trek to Tadiyandamol

One day trek- July 15.

Peak-5200ft.Coorg district.Both Malayalam and Kannada prevalent.

Started from Bangalore - july14- night 9.30bus ordinary KSRTC bus - reached Virajpet at 4.30am. Walked to the 'other' busstand from where we are supposed to catch the bus to Kakkabe( or palace estate or kabinkad) which is 23km away from Virajpet. Takes about an hour. Started at about 6.30am and Reached there at about 7.30am. Walk from busstop to 'primary school' which is about 4kms away from busstand. Started trek from primary school at 9.00 after having the breakfast. walk for nearly 3 hours to reach the peak. Raining heavily. No hope of pitching tent. Decided to return. Started climb down at about 1230 and reached base at the bus stand at 5.50pm in time for the last bus to Virajpet at 6.10pm. Came to Virajpet, had dinner and then took bus at 9.00pm (Rajahamsa-no booking required,just board and take tickets later.). Reached IISc at 3.30am..

About leeches-
plenty on the way. apply salt after removing the leeches. give a coating of dettol and then wear socks.

# of people-4 ; Kumar, Srinu, Chaitanya and Jayashree.
Expenditure per person - approx.600/- at the max.( we spent too much on food. Lot of it was extra.)

Bread - 4 loaves for 5 people.(too much.2 loaves is enough.)

sickle (came in useful to pick out leeches.)

usual stuff like toothpaste,toothbrush,comb,liquid soap etc.
